Welcome!
I have built the foundations of Touch Therapy over many years, without being consciously aware this is where I was heading!
My ‘journey’ has included developing my interest in complementary therapies, actively seeking ways of healthy living, training as a Counsellor and finally arriving as a Holistic Therapist following the completion of a rigorous training at Central College Nottingham in Holistic Massage and Anatomy/Physiology.
I have since studied Hopi Ear Candle treatment, Indian Head Massage, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Seated Chair massage, Hot Stonefusion and Holistic Medical Massage so that I can offer an integrated treatment package to suit your needs.
I continue to develop and update my techniques by further reading, studying and regularly attending workshops and seminars on more advanced techniques.
I am the joint Co-ordinator for the Nottingham branch of the Federation of Holistic Therapists Local Support Group. Not only is the group a valuable source of support, networking and information for local therapists, its mission is to also to promote awareness of complementary therapies and provide a central point of contact for the public. Feel free to contact me or my co-Co-ordinator, Jayne Newsome at The White House, Bestwood - 0115 962 2924 or browse the FHT website http://fht.org.uk.
In addition to my individual client work, I work in the corporate sector, offering a stress-busting seated chair massage to staff in their workplace.
I work with vulnerably housed people with mental health problems at a Framework Housing project in Nottingham. I offer the full range of complementary therapies once a fortnight and in the intervening week I offer nail care, hand/arm/ back massage as a Therapeutic Care volunteer for the British Red Cross, for which I am a Therapeutic Care Trainer.
I have trained with RESTUK which provides stress massage to rescuers in crisis situations. This is a relatively new charity founded by Kim Woolridge and Lynne Woods who worked with Carolina Emergency Response Massage Team in New York following the 9/11 disaster. Kim and her team are now working hard to establish links with front-line rescue organisations to become part of the frontline response teams which would be called up in times of critical incidents.
